One child holds a bouquet of pink flowers while the other carries a wide-brimmed straw hat. Their expressive faces, rosy cheeks, and oversized eyes lend the composition a nostalgic, storybook quality.

Richly textured brushwork and a warm palette of ochre, crimson, soft blue, and earthy neutrals bring depth and character to the scene. The painting is executed on a rigid board rather than canvas, with visible impasto and expressive palette-knife detailing throughout.

Presented in a substantial decorative wood frame featuring antiqued bronze and gold finishes, a linen liner, and rope-style inner molding. A brass plaque identifies the work as an original oil by Stephenson.

Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related wear to the frame, including minor scuffs, brown stain on frame fabric, and finish variation. The painting displays visible brushwork, textured paint, and scattered small circular surface irregularities, particularly in the background. These may be age-related and have not been professionally assessed.
