That Old Thing

Antique Brown-Top Stoneware Jug

Regular price $65.00

A classic American antique stoneware jug featuring a traditional two-tone glaze—natural buff stoneware body with a rich Albany slip–glazed top. This utilitarian form was widely used in the late 19th to early 20th century for storing liquids like whiskey, vinegar, or water.

The hand-applied handle and tapered shoulder give it that unmistakable country store / farmhouse feel. What really stands out here is the heavy, naturally worn glaze on the top—chipping and surface wear that adds strong character and authenticity rather than detracting from it.
This is a great decorative piece for shelves, kitchen styling, or layered into a rustic vignette.
