Antique Dixie Belle 4-Quart Hand-Crank Ice Cream Freezer – Circa 1930s

Regular price $115.00

A nostalgic piece of American kitchen history, this antique Dixie Belle ice cream freezer was manufactured by Richmond Cedar Works of Richmond, Virginia, circa 1930s.

Constructed with a wooden stave bucket secured by three metal hoops, the freezer features a cast-iron hand-crank mechanism with raised Dixie Belle lettering and a decorative steamboat emblem. Its original paper label remains on the front, depicting the same riverboat motif.

The richly weathered wood, aged iron hardware, and faded advertising graphics lend this piece an unmistakable old-country charm. The original-style metal freezing canister, lid, and interior churning paddle are included.

A wonderful decorative addition to a country kitchen, farmhouse pantry, or collection of early American household antiques.

Condition:

Antique condition with significant age-related wear. The wooden bucket displays weathering, discoloration, and visible cracking and splitting, particularly around the rim. The metal hoops, crank assembly, and canister exhibit rust and oxidation. The original paper label has fading, cracking, and areas of loss. Functionality has not been tested. Offered as a decorative antique rather than for food preparation.
